Why FC 27 Traders Are Split on the Beaver Moon 99 Boost

The argument splitting FC 27 traders right now
Ultimate Scream has been live since 23 October and runs to 6 November, but the conversation in the FC 27 community has already jumped ahead to one date: 24 November, when the Beaver Moon upgrade is due to land.
Here is the bit everyone agrees on. Every Ultimate Scream item is set to get one face stat boosted to 99 plus full in-position chemistry for a single week, from 24 November to 1 December. Both effects are temporary. Nothing about the card is permanent after that week ends.
Here is the bit nobody agrees on: which stat. Guides and community posts are split on whether the 99 is rolled at random per card — the way it worked last year in FC 26 — or fixed per player. EA's in-game messaging confirms a boost is coming during November's full moon, but a precise stat-selection rule has not been published. Treat "random" as the likely outcome based on last year, not as confirmed.
Why that one unknown matters so much
Players on Reddit and in the usual trading circles are arguing the point because it completely changes what a Scream card is worth:
- If the 99 is random, buying a card for the boost is a lottery ticket. A 99 Pace roll on a target man is a wasted week.
- If it is fixed and sensible, you can buy the cards whose boost would actually push them into meta territory and plan around it.
Add the other wrinkle people keep raising: FC 27 specials already launch with Role++ across primary and secondary positions, so the Beaver Moon gives less than the old Scream upgrades used to. The chemistry perk is effectively replacing the permanent stat jumps of previous years.
What the market is actually doing
Scream prices have been drifting down rather than holding. A market report dated 26 October had several Team 1 items falling double digits inside a week:
| Card | Reported move |
| Tahith Chong (85) | around -23% to roughly 31,750 coins |
| Junior Alonso (85) | around -22% to roughly 31,000 coins |
| Fabinho (87) | around -17% to roughly 76,000 coins |
Those are snapshots from one report and prices move fast, so check a live market tool before you act. The direction is the useful part: supply from packs, objectives and tokens is outweighing demand, and the upgrade is too far off to prop prices up yet.
The two camps
"Buy the dip now." Cards are cheap, Team 2 is expected to push prices lower still, and anything you buy before the hype rebuild is profit if the boost week lifts prices.
"Don't hold for a week-long gamble." A month of your coins parked in a card for seven days of a possibly-random stat is a weak trade, especially with Team 2 and a likely Champions-themed promo landing in early November.
Our take
The grounded middle is simple: buy Scream cards you want to use, not Scream cards you want to flip. The permanent card is the thing you are actually paying for. If the boost week lifts prices, treat that as a bonus exit, not the plan.
Two practical notes for Indian players:
- Team 2 is widely expected on Friday 30 October at around 11:30 PM IST, though EA has not confirmed the time. Leaked name lists circulating for it are unverified.
- The Token Store is reported to close around 13 November, and what you redeem there is untradeable, so it has no resale value.
