FC 27 Fans Can't Agree if Hall of FUT Cards Will Upgrade

Published 2026-10-25 · DB.Coins Blog

Season 2 of FC 27 — FC Heritage — is live, and the loudest argument in Ultimate Team right now is not about a card that exists yet. It is about what happens to the Hall of FUT cards players have already ground Gallery tokens for.

EA has confirmed the Heritage Circuit as a connected run of five single-player Live Events: a Kick Off event where you pick difficulty, then Ultimate Scream on Semi-Pro, Hall of FUT: Unleashed on Professional and Thunderstruck on World Class, with a tournament closing it out. Season 2 itself runs from 22 October to 3 December. What EA has not said is whether "Unleashed" upgrades the base Hall of FUT items in your club, or ships as separate, higher-rated versions you have to pull or earn all over again.

Why the community is actually angry

Threads on the EA forums and posts doing the rounds on X are asking the same question in different words, and getting conflicting answers from different fan sources. The worry is simple: if a better Hall of FUT version arrives in packs with no upgrade path, then everyone who spent 300 to 750 Gallery tokens on a base card paid full price for something about to be outclassed.

The other half of the community is unbothered. Their argument is that EA's own Gallery documentation already says the Token Store contents change through the season, and that base Hall of FUT items are eligible for Evolutions when they meet requirements — so a base card is a starting point, not a dead end.

What is confirmed vs. what is noise

Token prices quoted around the community also disagree — some guides list the cheapest Hall of FUT tier at 300 tokens and the headline attackers at 750, others quote different tiers and even different squad sizes in the store. Check the store in-game before you commit; do not trade off a tier list.

The grounded take

Both camps are half right. The honest read is that EA has done this before: campaign versions of a collection usually arrive as new items rather than retroactive boosts to what sits in your club. That makes the "base card is a stopgap" view the safer assumption — but it also means a base Hall of FUT card you will genuinely use for the next six weeks is not a waste, because six weeks is a long time in FUT.

What is clearly unwise is hoarding tokens purely on the hope of a mega-upgrade with no announced date. Tokens sitting idle win you zero games.

What it means for your coins

  • Spend tokens on a card that fixes a real hole in your side now, not on whoever tops a tier list.
  • Keep liquid coins back for the Unleashed and Thunderstruck windows. Promo weeks drop fodder and meta prices, and Heritage content typically goes live in the evening India time.
  • Expect base Hall of FUT prices to wobble the moment Unleashed details are official — if upgrades are confirmed as separate cards, base versions get cheaper, not dearer.
  • Do not panic-sell a base card you are actually using. Selling into a rumour is how most players end up paying more to rebuild.
