Why FC 27's Leaked Promo Calendar Has Traders Arguing

Published 2026-10-12 · DB.Coins Blog

Season 1 of FC 27 is nearly done, and instead of guessing what lands next, most of the community already thinks it knows. A promo roadmap has been doing the rounds for weeks, and the reaction to it has turned into one of the more interesting arguments in Ultimate Team right now.

What the leaked roadmap actually claims

The widely shared order for the next stretch of FC 27 is:

PromoStatus
Future StarsLive since 9 October
Ultimate Scream (paired with FUT Hall of Fame)Expected next
Winter WildcardsExpected later
TOTYExpected January window

Only the first of those is actually confirmed by being in the game. Future Stars Team 1 arrived on 9 October with 15 cards, its campaign window runs to around 23 October, and the live upgrades on those items are tracked until they land on 3 February 2027.

The rest is unconfirmed. Trackers list Ultimate Scream with an expected start of 23 October, but that is an estimate based on when the promo has launched in previous years — EA does not publish its promo schedule in advance. Different calendar sites also disagree with each other on dates, which is a good reminder not to treat any of this as gospel.

The one date that is solid

Season 1 — Ones to Watch — is listed as ending on 22 October at 06:59 UTC, which is 12:29 PM IST on the 22nd. Season 2 is expected to begin the same day, because EA normally rolls straight from one pass into the next. Promos themselves usually drop on a Friday evening UK time, which for us in India is around 10:30 PM IST.

The split in the community

Players arguing for the leak say it is simply good information. If you know a Hall of FUT-flavoured promo is coming, you stop dumping coins into cards that will be outclassed in a fortnight, and you time your fodder stockpiling instead of panic-buying on drop night.

Players arguing against it say the leak removes the only genuinely exciting part of the Thursday–Friday cycle. The complaint doing the rounds is that discovery is dead: by the time the promo is live, everyone already knows the theme, the market has priced it in, and the whole lobby is sniping the same five targets. A few also point out that leaks that shift over time — Future Stars was reportedly moved forward to headline Season 1 — create false confidence more than clarity.

My take: trust the order, not the dates

The sequence in these roadmaps tends to hold up because EA recycles its calendar shape year after year. The exact dates do not, and that is where people lose coins. Planning around "Ultimate Scream is next" is sensible. Planning around "Ultimate Scream drops at 10:30 PM IST on the 23rd" is a gamble.

What that means practically:

  • Future Stars prices usually soften as a campaign window closes and attention moves on. If you are buying one to use, the back end of the window is often kinder than launch night.
  • A season rollover floods the market with fodder from fresh objectives and pass rewards. Rated-squad fodder tends to dip right after, so selling into the days before the switch is generally better than after.
  • Do not over-commit before TOTY. If the January window lands anywhere near where the roadmap suggests, cards bought at a peak in November rarely hold their value through it.
  • Keep a liquid coin balance. The players who do well on drop night are not the ones who guessed the theme — they are the ones who had coins ready when the market moved.

That last point is the whole game. A roadmap only helps if you can act on it, and acting on it needs a balance that is not tied up in cards you cannot shift.
