FC 27 Fans Can't Agree if Pack Odds Trackers Are Real

Why pack odds are suddenly the loudest argument in FC 27

With Road to the Knockouts expected to drop on Friday 6 November around 11:30 PM IST, a lot of people are about to decide whether to open packs or sit on their coins. Right on cue, the pack odds argument has taken over the FC 27 discussion again — and this time it is less about "EA nerfed the drop rates" and more about whether anyone's numbers can be trusted at all.

Two camps have formed, and both are louder than usual this week.

The "every account has its own pack pool" theory

This is the spicy one. Players on Reddit and the EA forums are arguing that pack pools are personalised per account. The reasoning usually goes like this:

  • They keep pulling from what feels like a narrow rotation of the same few hundred players, week after week.
  • When they compare pulls with friends, the overlap feels suspiciously small.
  • Creators and streamers seem to hit the big cards far more often than regular accounts do.

From there the conclusion is that EA assigns different player pools, or different weighting, to different accounts. Some third-party calculators even describe hidden non-linear weighting in the pack algorithm — worth flagging clearly as unconfirmed, since none of them cite an EA source for it.

The counter-argument

The other side is unglamorous but hard to dismiss. Pack pools in FC 27 are genuinely large, and when thousands of cards are in play, two accounts opening a handful of packs each should look like they are drawing from different pools. That is just how small samples behave. Add selective memory — nobody screenshots the fifth 82-rated card of the night — and you get a conspiracy out of normal variance.

Players in this camp point at EA's own probability disclosures as the answer, and note that the "same players every time" complaint has been recycled in every edition of Ultimate Team.

What the published numbers actually cover

This is the part that keeps the argument alive, and it is a legitimate gap:

What existsWhat it doesn't tell you
EA's Ultimate Team probabilities explainer (published 20 August 2026)Which specific players sit in a pool
"Show Pack Probabilities" under FC Points packs in the storeOdds for every single pack type you can earn
Community-tracked "observed pull rates" on odds sitesVerified sample sizes or methodology

So EA does publish rarity and rating-band odds for store packs. What it does not publish is a per-player breakdown — and for several reward packs, community trackers openly state no official odds exist. Community datasets fill that gap, but they are self-reported, unaudited and easy to skew.

Our grounded take

The personalised-pool theory has no evidence behind it, and we would not plan a club around it. The real lesson sitting underneath the argument is simpler: rating-band odds are a budgeting tool, not a promise, and no odds table changes the fact that packs have a worse expected return than the transfer market for most squads.

That matters a lot right now. RTTK upgrade paths for FC 27 are still unconfirmed, so RTTK pack prices are built on assumptions about upgrades nobody has seen. Community market reports through early November have already shown sharp two-way swings — some cards spiking on hype, others sliding as supply arrives — which is exactly the environment where buying the player you want beats gambling on finding him.

What to do with your coins this week

  • Check the odds before you open, not after. Use the in-store probabilities on any FC Points pack.
  • Price the alternative. If a pack costs roughly what the card you want costs, just buy the card.
  • Wait out the RTTK day-one spike. Prices on new promo cards typically soften once supply catches up.
  • Treat community pull data as a hint, not a fact. Small, self-reported samples are not proof of anything.
