FC 27's SBC Display Bug Has Players Demanding Cards Back

The bug that turned a club gem into a Small Gold Pack

The loudest FUT conversation this week is not about a promo. It is about players opening a Streamlined SBC, submitting what looked like junk fodder, and finding a far more expensive card missing from their club afterwards.

The pattern being described across community threads is consistent: a player opens an SBC, toggles the eligible-items list between ascending and descending sort, and a very low-rated bronze jumps to the top of the list carrying an Item Score that makes no sense for that card. Inspecting the profile still shows the bronze. Submit it, and the item actually consumed is something else entirely.

One widely circulated report has a roughly 90-rated ICON valued near 3 million coins disappearing this way, with the SBC then abandoned so the payoff was a Small Gold Player Pack. Another player described nearly losing a Ones to Watch card to the same mis-drawn row. EA has not published a note acknowledging the issue, so treat the exact scale as unconfirmed — but the volume of similar descriptions is hard to dismiss as user error.

Why FC 27's new SBC format raises the stakes

FC 27 replaced the old chemistry-and-rating puzzle with Item Score. You are no longer hunting links and nationalities; you are feeding a number. That is faster, and almost everyone agrees it is less tedious.

The side effect is that submitting is now a two-tap action with no chemistry screen slowing you down. Combine that with a list that can render the wrong row and the margin for an expensive mistake gets very thin.

Two rules make it worse:

SituationWhat happens to your cards
Items submitted to an SBCPermanently removed from your club; EA Advisors cannot restore them
Time-limited SBC expires part-doneItems are not returned — you get an untradeable Partial Completion Reward by Item Score tier

EA's written policy is blunt: SBC submissions are final. There is no recovery path, whether you fat-fingered it or the interface lied to you.

Where the community splits

Players arguing for restorations say the rule was written for human error, not for a rendering bug. If the client displays a 48-rated bronze and consumes an ICON, that is not a player decision — and a blanket "submissions are final" becomes a shield for EA's own defect.

The other camp is less sympathetic. FC 27 does throw an over-score warning when your selection greatly exceeds the requirement, and an Item Score that is wildly out of line with a card's rating is a visible red flag. Their position: slow down, read the warning, and no bug touches you.

Our take: both are right about different things. The warning is a real safety net and plenty of losses were avoidable. But the duty to double-check every row only exists because the list cannot be trusted right now, and that is on EA. With Title Update 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 both being small post-launch patches and reporting pointing to November for the first substantial update, a fix is not imminent — build your own habits instead of waiting.

How to protect your club tonight

  • If an Item Score does not match the card's rating, back out of the SBC completely and re-enter before selecting anything.
  • Avoid toggling the sort order inside the selection screen. Pick from the default list.
  • Do your big submissions calmly, not at 11 PM IST with a Season 1 objective expiring. Season 1 runs to 22 October, so there is no real rush.
  • Park your untouchable cards in the FUT Gallery or an active squad so they are less likely to surface as fodder candidates.
  • Read the over-score warning every single time. It is the only backstop you have.

What it means for the market
